About The Role

Job Purpose

The Commercial Operations Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating commercial processes from opportunity identification through tendering, proposal preparation, contract award, and contract completion. The role provides critical support to the Commercial and Sales teams by ensuring tenders, bids, quotations, proposals, contracts, and related commercial documentation are prepared accurately, compliant, and submitted within required timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the commercial process from opportunity through contract completion.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and ensure timely submission of tenders, bids, quotations, proposals, and commercial documentation.
  • Review customer and tender requirements and coordinate inputs from Sales, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Contracts, and other stakeholders.
  • Support costing, pricing, commercial analysis, and quotation preparation.
  • Coordinate contract documentation, including contract review, tracking, amendments, and completion.
  • Maintain accurate tender, quotation, opportunity, sales pipeline, contract, and commercial databases/trackers.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc commercial and sales reports.
  • Analyze revenue, pipeline, pricing, tender outcomes, contract status, and key commercial KPIs.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, business planning, and management reporting.
  • Identify and escalate commercial risks, contractual issues, and potential compliance concerns.
  • Ensure commercial activities comply with company policies, HSE, compliance, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve commercial processes, reporting accuracy, efficiency, and business performance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive commercial, pricing, financial, and customer information.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of tendering, proposal management, contracts, quotations, and commercial operations.
  • Strong understanding of cost analysis, pricing, contracts, procurement, and sales operations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, data analysis, reporting, and dashboards.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and MS Office.
  • Experience with CRM/Salesforce is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and commercial decision-making skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Supply Chain, Procurement, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Tendering, Contracts, Proposal Management, Commercial Operations, Sales Operations, or a related commercial function.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas, Oilfield Services, Energy Services, Engineering, or technical/industrial sector is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience managing tenders, proposals, quotations, and contracts from opportunity stage through completion.
  • Experience in a multinational or structured corporate environment is an advantage.
