LEAD PROJECT ENGINEER

About The Role
- Lead Project Engineer (E&I) is assigned to the project by EID and will report to EID, PD/PMT/PM & CM (E&I) to execute various E&I activities related to the project.
- PMT related
- Coordinating the E&I activities with Project Management Team and other disciplines in the Company e.g. Subcontracts, Procurement, Engineering, QAS, Planning and Offshore department.
- Executing the project in all phases (PMT/Construction/Offshore) as per Company QAS procedures and HSE requirements within the time schedule and estimated budget of the project.
- Providing input to Project Services Section for the preparation of the Yard, Offshore and Onsite construction schedules in line with project requirements
- Providing a list of works to be subcontracted, if any, as per project requirement
- Finalizing the list of Construction deliverables like Installation Procedure and Inspection & Test Plan for the project.
- Drafting correspondences on E&I related issues for the project for PD/PM review and signature.
- Following up for Client approvals on drawings / documents and other project related issues.
- Reviewing and commenting on documents submitted by Sub-contractor/Vendors and ensure timely mobilization of Sub-contractor representative and manpower resources.
- Assisting EID in providing technical input for new Tenders during bidding stage.
- Monitor the needs and initiate job instructions and variation proposals to ensure cost effective operations and compliance with contract
- Reviewing the project activity report and verifying the completeness and accuracy of all invoices
- Attending related packages FAT and ensuring the close out of all punches prior to dispatch from factory.
Yard Construction related
- Carrying out E&I equipment inspection along with QC Inspector upon equipment receipt at Stores.
- Supervising and Monitoring the site activities progress directly and/or through Site Engineers assigned to the project and take necessary corrective steps / actions wherever required in consultation with PD/PM, EID & CM (E&I) and ensure that E&I works are completed within the budget and as per schedule.
- Participating in taking necessary actions with Construction Manager, EID, QS, and Planning Engineer to adjust the project schedule to account for changing priorities, delays and other contingencies, ensuring that costs are contained within the approved budget levels where Contract execution is optimized.
- Assisting CM (E&I) and PD/PM in resolving contractual and other construction related problems that might arise during the project execution.
- Participating in the preparation of final documentation, close out reports, As-built submissions, lessons learned, etc.
- Ensuring Efficiency and CPI’s are maintained.
- Ensuring Highest level of HSE Standards and execution of HSE policies.
Offshore Installations related
- Working Closely with Offshore Operation, prepare Schedule based on available Marine Spread. Identify potential issues which can lead to additional barge days.
- Attending Kick Off Meetings, progress meeting, Coordinating with Client shutdown schedules, conducting site surveys, and arranging workshops with all stake holders to plan execution for Green and Brown Field Scope.
- Coordinating with Engineering on design related issues, constructability and model review. Sharing lesson learns to ensure past issues are addressed and closed.
- Coordinating with Onshore Interface Contractors to resolve interface related issues
- Coordinating with Vendors, Subcon to provide execution plan and ensure work associated are attended.
- Working with procurement to ensure material delivered on time. Provide plan to deliver projects materials in KSA for smooth operation and to avoid delays in shifting materials.
- Arranging required Qualification of HV/MV, FO, Instrument Calibrators under assigned project and to ensure proper training are done to qualify team.
- Leading a team of Site and yard engineers
- Ensuring Set up of Material Movements, SABER Application, LOM process are done per project schedule.
- Arrangements in terms of Materials storage to be made in areas planned for KSA, UAE Offshore.
- Ensuring the availability of all equipment and tools required for offshore activities.
- Developing project Execution plan with assigned team and to highlight project delays and discuss mitigation plan.
- Introduction of new Job Cards and estimation system to calculate man-hours, avoiding cost overrun.
- Coordinating with Yard team ensuring onshore scope are attended and any carry over works are captured properly to execute them offshore.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree- Electrical, instrumentation or E&C from an Accredited university (Full time).
- MBA or engineering management degree is a plus

- 12 years of Construction experience in the Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecom fields in the Oil & Gas Industry.

Passing physical fitness from AD Health Service Co. SEHA is mandatory. Physical examinations and investigation test (ADMA) will be required before working at offshore Oil and Gas projects.
