Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee custom electrical equipment projects from initial requirements through engineering, production, testing, shipment, and closeout. This role leads cross-functional coordination, customer communication, scheduling, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects through requirements capture, engineering, procurement, production, testing, shipment, and closeout .
  • Serve as a primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate activities across Sales, Application Engineering, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, and Logistics .
  • Build and maintain detailed project schedules and monitor critical milestones.
  • Establish achievable delivery dates based on material availability and production capacity .
  • Lead project kickoff meetings and maintain action-item tracking.
  • Manage customer change requests, engineering changes, and related schedule impacts.
  • Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) , documentation packages, and shipment readiness.
  • Identify project risks early and drive timely resolution.
  • Maintain project reporting, schedule information, and on-time delivery metrics .
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining priorities and execution discipline.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in manufacturing, electrical equipment, or electromechanical environments.
  • Experience managing engineered-to-order or custom manufacturing projects .
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, order management, and long-lead material coordination .
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications .
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, production, and quality teams .
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet .
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer management skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple complex projects at the same time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with power distribution equipment such as switchgear, PDCs, RPPs, STS, or UPS systems .
  • PMP certification or active pursuit of certification.
  • Familiarity with UL, NEC, ANSI , or related electrical industry standards.
  • Experience coordinating FATs and customer witness testing .
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
