About The Role

Join Our Team as a Plant Planner at Johnson Electric!

Location: Stratford, ON (onsite)

Salary Range: $70k-75k annually

Vacancy Type: Existing position

As our next Plant Planner , you’ll be at the forefront of plant-wide scheduling, inventory control, production planning, and outside processor coordination. Your expertise in materials control, forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory management will be crucial in supporting safe, efficient operations and maintaining compliance with Johnson Electric’s health, safety, quality, and environmental systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Maintain control of outside processor activities, including releases, follow-up, and transportation coordination.
  • Update outside process inventory records, reports, and visual inventory boards.
  • Perform month-end inventory reconciliation with outside processors.
  • Conduct cycle counts and update inventory and packaging reports as required.
  • Organize and control month-end and year-end inventory activities.
  • Schedule powder, compacting, sintering, and machining operations.
  • Develop and maintain real-time inventory control and scheduling processes.
  • Prepare forecasting and capacity plans.
  • Develop monthly, weekly, and daily schedules, including production priorities.
  • Monitor and update visual scheduling and inventory boards.
  • Support Overall Equipment Effectiveness forecasting and tracking as required.
  • Develop internal container systems and customer container programs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve packaging and material movement methods.
  • Work with customers to develop returnable-container systems, backup expendable packaging, and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement teams, pull-system initiatives, visual scheduling, inventory control, APQP activities, and Johnson Electric teams.
  • Cross-train with Customer Service and the Production Control Assistant.
  • Design and maintain existing and future racking within the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System and Environmental Health and Safety System requirements.
  • Perform all work safely and efficiently in accordance with Johnson Electric policies, procedures, and quality systems.

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma.
  • Relevant college education or equivalent experience is an asset.
  • Experience in materials control is an asset.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and reasoning abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in an office environment within a manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to enter manufacturing areas to address operational issues.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience with plant-wide production scheduling and inventory planning.
  • Experience coordinating outside processors, transportation, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of forecasting, capacity planning, cycle counting, and visual inventory control.
  • Experience developing returnable-container or internal material-handling systems.
  • Experience participating in APQP or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with pull systems, OEE tracking, and real-time inventory-control processes.
