Job Overview

Our client is a fast-growing investment holding company that partners with leading independent wealth advisory businesses across South Africa. Through its house-of-brands model, the group provides the capital, governance and shared operational capabilities that allow its portfolio businesses to remain focused on delivering exceptional advice and client service.

They are looking for a Group Information & Technology Enablement Lead to shape and deliver the group's information, digital enablement and technology agenda.

This is a business-facing, highly influential role for someone who understands that technology is not an end in itself, but an enabler of better client service, advisor productivity, regulatory control and scalable operations.

You will take practical ownership of information quality, data governance, business processes, systems, automation, reporting and digital enablement across the group and its portfolio businesses. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and specialist technology, cybersecurity, data and implementation partners to turn business needs into practical, measurable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Information & Data Management

  • Own and develop the group's information management agenda, including data ownership, quality, governance and accountability.
  • Establish practical data governance standards covering definitions, master records, access, retention, lineage and system integration.
  • Lead data quality assessment, remediation and ongoing control activities across the portfolio.
  • Support POPIA compliance and privacy-by-design practices alongside Compliance and Information Officers.

Business Process & Workflow Optimisation

  • Understand end-to-end advice, onboarding, servicing, compliance and operational processes across portfolio businesses.
  • Identify inefficiencies, duplication, risk and unnecessary manual processes.
  • Translate business requirements into practical process designs, workflows, controls and platform requirements.
  • Prioritise improvements based on client value, advisor productivity, compliance, risk reduction and commercial benefit.
  • Ensure redesigned processes are properly documented, adopted and measured.

Platforms & Applications

  • Guide the effective use and development of CRM, financial planning, client onboarding, document management, portfolio reporting and workflow platforms.
  • Assess whether existing platforms remain fit for purpose and recommend enhancements, integrations, consolidation or replacement where required.
  • Coordinate implementation and adoption across a diverse house-of-brands environment.
  • Maintain visibility of system ownership, data flows, dependencies, licences and key technology risks.

Management Information, Analytics & Insight

  • Improve the quality, consistency, timeliness and usability of group management information.
  • Coordinate dashboards, reporting, reconciliations and analytics requirements with business owners and specialist partners.
  • Build confidence in the information used for executive, board, compliance and portfolio oversight.
  • Establish the information foundations required for more advanced analytics, automation and responsible AI adoption.

Digital Transformation, Automation & AI

  • Develop and deliver a prioritised roadmap for automation, systems integration, digital client journeys and AI-enabled productivity.
  • Identify practical AI and automation opportunities across advice delivery, client service, compliance, reporting and administration.
  • Move solutions from concept through to implementation, adoption and measurable business benefit.
  • Champion responsible innovation while ensuring solutions remain aligned with regulatory obligations, risk appetite and client trust.

Cybersecurity, Privacy & Technology Risk

  • Coordinate the group's cybersecurity and technology risk agenda with specialist security and managed-service partners.
  • Oversee areas such as access governance, awareness, incident readiness, third-party reviews, testing and remediation.
  • Translate cyber, privacy, resilience and information risks into clear business actions and governance reporting.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Risk and Information Officers to ensure appropriate controls and evidence are maintained.

Partner & Vendor Management

  • Lead delivery through outsourced and specialist technology, data, cybersecurity and implementation partners.
  • Establish clear scopes, milestones, service levels and accountability for delivery.
  • Translate business priorities into actionable briefs and ensure partner outputs meet operational, security, data and user requirements.
  • Manage vendor performance, escalations, commercial reviews, due diligence, licences and material service issues.
  • Coordinate multiple workstreams and remove delivery blockers.

Strategy & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Contribute to the group's information and technology strategy, roadmap and investment priorities.
  • Prepare concise reporting for executive, steering and board-level forums.
  • Build trusted relationships with managing directors, advisors, operations, compliance and finance teams across the portfolio.
  • Translate complex technology and information matters into clear commercial language and practical decisions.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Information Management, Data, Commerce, Business Analysis, Engineering or a related field.
  • Approximately 5–8 years' relevant experience in information management, business process improvement, data operations, digital delivery, business analysis, platform implementation or technology-enabled transformation.
  • Proven experience translating business processes and user requirements into practical data, workflow or technology solutions.
  • Experience managing outsourced service providers and specialist delivery partners, with the ability to hold them accountable for outcomes.
  • Practical experience with data quality, reporting, management information, CRM/client lifecycle platforms and/or system integrations.
  • Strong understanding of business process optimisation and technology-enabled transformation.
  • Experience working across multiple stakeholders and business units, ideally within a complex or decentralised environment.

Advantageous Experience

  • Experience within financial services, wealth management, financial planning or investment administration .
  • Exposure to POPIA, information governance, cybersecurity oversight, compliance workflows or operational risk controls.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Power BI, automation and/or AI tools .
  • Additional training in data governance, business analysis, process improvement, project delivery, information security, privacy or change management.
