Job Description
Under general supervision, Shuttle Drivers perform various tasks related to the transport of passengers in a multi-passenger shuttle bus in a safe, courteous and efficient manner.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Casino Tejon their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations in order to provide superior guest service.
- Provides extraordinary guest service, positively effects interactions with customers and team members, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
- Assist customers with special needs upon request, but in compliance with Hard Rock’s policies and procedures
- Assists passengers with boarding and exiting vehicle - assist with loading & unloading luggage and other items as needed
- Maintain shuttle in clean, neat manner
- Inspection of shuttle before every shift - report any safety concerns, or damage, immediately
- Follows specific scheduled routes and coordinates routes with other drivers or team lead - must be able to learn and remember pick up and drop off destination points
- Monitors traffic and weather conditions and notifies supervisor of any potential problems
- Communicates well with fellow employees to meet client needs
- Must be able to communicate by phone, two-way radio, and in person in clear fluent English in a courteous, friendly and professional manner with customers, guests, co-workers and other persons
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- The skills and abilities necessary for effective performance within this position are typically acquired through two months of on-the-job training or related experience.
- Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing with guests and employees
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc )
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license and a Department of Motor Vehicles report with no careless motor vehicle accidents and no moving violations within the last three years.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to walk distances.
- Ability to lift 30 to 40 lbs.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to excessive noise and constant exposure to general public.
