What you will do

The F&A Manager will support JAPAC finance and administration activities, including close support, financial controls, cash-flow forecasting, statutory and audit support, and accurate financial reporting. This role will report to the Senior Manager of JAPAC Finance.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Manager of JAPAC Finance as a key point of contact for Amgen India, JAPAC finance, and local stakeholders, coordinating day-to-day F&A deliverables.
- Coordinate F&A close and reporting activities, including SPOC and non-PO accruals, review of prepayments and deposits, manual journal entries, payroll and non-payroll journal preparation, and local GAAP journal posting.
- Prepare and maintain monthly cash-flow forecasts, support intercompany payment documentation, cash accounting, bank reconciliations, intercompany bank transfers, and bank-signatory administration.
- Support transfer-pricing and related processes, including management-fee and transfer-pricing adjustment calculations, actual true-up validation, Business Travel Account (BTA) reconciliation, and Gross-To-Net (GTN) settlement review.
- Perform finance review of payments, support VAT-preparation data, monitor T&E in accordance with local guidance, and maintain strong controls over payment and expense-management activities.
- Prepare financial reporting packages and monthly and quarterly reconciliations between US GAAP and local GAAP, including trial-balance, income-statement, and balance-sheet analysis.
- Support statutory and internal audits, local government statistical and regulatory surveys, IICC testing, and timely resolution of audit findings and control issues.
- Maintain accurate supporting records, including fixed-asset registers, bank statements, vendor reconciliations, and documentation required for local statutory, tax, and finance processes.
- Ensure the quality, completeness, and timeliness of assigned F&A deliverables; identify opportunities to standardize, automate, and continuously improve processes and controls.
- Build trusted working relationships with finance, tax, treasury, controllership, and business stakeholders across JAPAC, US, and global teams.
- Escalate material risks, exceptions, and issues promptly to the Senior Manager of JAPAC Finance, and communicate clearly and proactively with relevant stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications
- Chartered accountant, Cost Accountant or a Master’s degree in Finance or Business & Administration with 8 to 12 years of accounting and/or finance experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience
- Experience collaborating effectively across functions and multiple time zones
- Knowledge and understanding of financial close, accruals, journal entries, cash-flow forecasting, reconciliations, financial controls, audit support, and local statutory requirements
- Strong analytical skills; ability to manage priorities, solve problems, and deliver high-quality work independently
- High digital fluency, including familiarity with AI tools, automation platforms (RPA), and large data concept
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate data into clear strategic insights.
- Strong project and change management skills in cross-functional, matrixed environments
- Strong attention to detail & ability to operate with a sense of urgency
Good To Have Skills
- Big 4, Fortune 500, or multinational finance and accounting experience
- Initiative-taker with excellent analytical and presentation skills
- Experience working within a local affiliate in a global matrix organization.
- Experience preparing and reviewing financial reconciliations, journal entries, reporting packages, and supporting schedules
- Solid overall knowledge of financial systems and tools (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Tableau)
- Solid understanding of US GAAP, local GAAP, statutory reporting, internal controls, and financial close processes
- Experience partnering closely with Business Unit leads and General Managers.
- Proven ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations and a collaborative team environment
