Product Designer

About The Role

B2B go-to-market software has historically been where design ambition goes to die.

The tools are powerful but joyless. Dense, generic, admin-heavy, and built for process more than delight. Meanwhile, the best product companies have raised everyone’s expectations for what business software can feel like: fast, opinionated, elegant, and genuinely useful.

AI gives us a chance to rebuild the category from first principles.

Mutiny is building the agentic GTM platform that helps revenue teams create the work they need to win. Sellers and marketers should not have to wait on five internal teams to move a deal forward. They should have a bench of AI teammates that understands the account, knows what good looks like, and gets sharper every week. We’re looking for a founding staff designer to define what that feels like.

This is not a role where you plug into a mature design system, clean product rituals, or a settled category. You’ll help invent the product language for AI-native GTM software: the interaction model, the creative standards, the feedback loops, the system, and the taste bar for what the agent produces.

THE DESIGN PROBLEM

Our job is to make AI output that a great seller, marketer, or designer would actually be proud to put in front of a million-dollar account. That requires more than a chat box. It requires data, memory, taste, brand intelligence, workflow design, and a UI simple enough for every rep to use daily but powerful enough to support an entire revenue motion.

Some of the questions you’ll help answer

  • How should a seller direct an agent without becoming the agent’s project manager?
  • How do we make generated work feel on-brand without making it dull?
  • What does editing look like when the object is not a static page, but an intelligent system that can regenerate, revise, explain, and learn?
  • How do we give users confidence and control without burying them in settings?
  • How do we turn taste into a system the product can improve over time?

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

Product surfaces and flows

Design focused parts of Mutiny’s product experience: creating assets, reviewing AI output, editing generated work, managing brand guidance, and helping users get from idea to finished work faster. You’ll work closely with senior design, product, and engineering, but your work will ship.

Visual quality

Make the product feel sharper, clearer, and more polished. This could mean improving layouts, hierarchy, typography, spacing, empty states, generated assets, or the small details that make software feel excellent.

Systems and patterns

Help build the components and reusable patterns that let the product move faster without becoming messy. You don’t need to have led a design system before, but you should be excited to think beyond one screen at a time.

AI-native interactions

Explore new UI patterns for working with agents, generated content, flexible canvases, and product experiences that learn from user preferences over time. You’ll help us figure out what feels intuitive, powerful, and not like every other chat-based AI product.

WHO YOU ARE

We're looking for a designer who embodies the following

  • Early career, high slope. You might be a new grad or a few years into your career. What matters most is that you learn unusually fast, care deeply about the work, and show signs of becoming excellent.
  • Comfortable making reasonable decisions. You don’t need perfect information before moving forward. You ask good questions, use judgment, and can make progress even when the path is not fully defined.
  • Strong product instincts. You care about how the thing works, not just how it looks. You notice when a flow feels confusing, when an AI output feels generic, when a screen is trying to do too much, or when a detail actually matters.
  • Fast, open, and coachable. You show work early, take feedback seriously, and come back with something better. You want to be pushed, and you want to get very good.
  • Energized by the pace. We work in person in New York City, five days a week, and the product is moving quickly. The right person will find that intense, clarifying, and fun.

THIS ROLE IS PROBABLY NOT FOR YOU

If these are the things that make you excited

  • You want a mature design org with established rituals and clean handoffs.
  • You prefer to receive scoped requirements rather than shape the problem.
  • You believe business software just needs to be usable.
  • You are interested in AI as a feature, but not as a new material for designing software.
  • You want remote-first work. We work together in person in New York City because the product is being invented through fast loops between design, engineering, founders, customers, and the product itself.

WHY MUTINY

Mutiny relaunched in April as an agent-first platform for GTM teams. Anthropic has showcased Mutiny as a leader in AI GTM, and customers including Uber, Rippling, Snowflake, GitLab, and Figma use Mutiny to create customer-facing work faster.

We’re backed by Sequoia, YC, Insight, and world-class GTM operators. More importantly, we’re building for a moment when the shape of work is changing fast and the design patterns have not been settled yet.

If you want to help define what high-taste AI software feels like for revenue teams, this is that seat.
