About The Role

Credit Risk Senior Analyst - 6-month secondment opportunity

Business Banking (BB) manages relationships with Commonwealth Bank’s small-medium enterprise customers, mid-market corporate customers, and regional and agribusiness customers, providing a wide range of financial services and solutions. It also services our personal and institutional online trading customers.

Business Lending (BL) is a product and specialised sales team that offers working capital, business loans, asset finance, corporate finance, and property finance to our customers. It also has responsibility for Line 1 risk and controls for these products. BL is directly responsible for product management, process management, portfolio and pricing management and arrears and financial difficulty management. It also works closely with bankers, data and analytics, digital and customer experience teams.

Reporting to the Senior Manager BB Fraud, you will contribute to the detection and prevention of Commercial Credit application fraud across BB including fraud education for our stakeholders.

You’ll be responsible for but not limited to

  • Reviewing Commercial Credit Applications assisting the detection of application fraud undertaken by customers, bankers or third parties.
  • Partner with the business segments to coach and drive behaviours to enable self-reliant risk management and compliance obligations.
  • Advocate for and advise the business on using appropriate tools, practices, and frameworks to enable execution of risk reduction and proactive risk management.
  • Advise on opportunities to enhance the design and resiliency of business processes and compliance.
  • Leverage business expertise and insights to make recommendations to the business for prioritisation of investments, interventions, and enhancements to mitigate risk.
  • Partner with the business to support the execution of the business strategy, including advising on strengths, vulnerabilities, and enhancements.
  • Develop a proactive risk and control culture.

We are interested in hearing from people who

  • Have a curious mindset and good attention to detail.
  • Sound knowledge of CBA’s business lending processes, with experience in either Small Business Banking (SBB), Commercial Banking (CB) or Regional & Agribusiness (RAB).
  • Exposure and knowledge of CBA’s Commercial Lending systems – CCL & BizExpress preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse/identify risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
