Release Train Delivery Lead, Commodity Derivatives
Westpac Group · Sydney, NSW, Australia
About The Role
Create your best future and join Westpac as a Release Train Delivery Lead, Commodity Derivatives
What’s the role?
As a Release Train Delivery Lead, you'll play a key role in helping our engineering teams deliver great outcomes in a predictable, transparent and efficient way. Based in Sydney in a permanent, full-time position, you'll bring people together across Product, Engineering, Architecture and Delivery to keep work moving and ensure priorities are aligned.
You'll coordinate planning across multiple squads, manage dependencies, remove blockers and provide clear visibility of delivery progress, risks and upcoming milestones. Rather than focusing on process for process' sake, you'll create the conditions for teams to do their best work and deliver high-quality, production-ready outcomes.
Working closely with senior technology leaders, you'll help balance competing priorities, support delivery forecasting, manage capacity and guide decision-making when trade-offs are required. You'll also champion continuous improvement, helping teams strengthen collaboration, improve delivery flow and achieve sustainable outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
What do I need?
You'll bring a collaborative approach, strong delivery and people leadership skills and the ability to create clarity in complex technology environments.
- Strong understanding of commodity derivatives, financial markets or trading environments, with the ability to translate business priorities into delivery outcomes.
- Experience managing and prioritising backlogs, working closely with Product, Engineering and business stakeholders to align work to strategic objectives.
- Proven ability to coordinate delivery across multiple technology teams, squads or workstreams while managing dependencies and competing priorities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the confidence to influence and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience using delivery metrics, data and insights to support forecasting, planning, risk management and continuous improvement.
