Stryker is seeking a Senior Staff Product Owner, Voice Intelligence to help shape the next generation of intelligent caregiver communication experiences within our Smart Care platform.

Voice Intelligence is a strategic investment area focused on making clinical communication more natural, intuitive, and connected. Today, caregivers use voice-enabled Stryker solutions to communicate and coordinate care. We are expanding those capabilities across badges, mobile applications, connected medical devices, and future care-delivery endpoints.

The future extends beyond simple voice commands. Our vision includes intelligent voice workflows, speech recognition, ambient documentation, real-time interpretation, conversational AI, and other AI-enabled services that can work together seamlessly in the clinical environment.

In this role, you will become a trusted product expert for Voice Intelligence. Working within the strategic direction established by Product Management, you will translate customer needs, clinical workflows, and roadmap priorities into valuable, technically feasible solutions for our software development teams.

The ideal candidate combines strong product ownership, technical aptitude, customer empathy, analytical thinking, and the ability to lead through influence . You will be expected to think beyond backlog management—taking ownership of the customer experience from concept through delivery, adoption, and measurable impact.

What You Will Do

  • Own product definition and execution for Voice Intelligence capabilities across multiple applications, devices, services, and clinical workflows.
  • Develop deep expertise in caregiver communication workflows, voice-enabled experiences, speech technologies, conversational AI, and the broader Voice Intelligence ecosystem.
  • Translate customer problems, clinical workflows, and product priorities into clear epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and executable development plans.
  • Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering to refine product concepts, evaluate technical feasibility, and make thoughtful scope and prioritization tradeoffs.
  • Maintain a strong working understanding of product architecture, cloud services, integrations, APIs, security considerations, and cross-team dependencies.
  • Help create intuitive experiences that allow caregivers to move seamlessly between voice-enabled capabilities such as communication, interpretation, documentation, and future intelligent services.
  • Identify and communicate technical risks, dependencies, quality concerns, and delivery impacts early enough to enable effective decision-making.
  • Incorporate Voice of Customer insights, user feedback, market context, and product performance into feature definition and prioritization.
  • Collaborate directly with customers and clinical users through demonstrations, feedback sessions, workflow discussions, and other discovery activities.
  • Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Clinical, Marketing, Project Management, and other teams to align priorities and drive successful product outcomes.
  • Communicate product decisions, progress, tradeoffs, and risks clearly to technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior leaders.
  • Support product and business analysis by providing input on scope, sequencing, dependencies, delivery impacts, and customer value.
  • Drive strong backlog quality, planning discipline, and predictable execution while ensuring development teams understand the customer problem and intended product outcome.
  • Influence across teams and help align capabilities that span multiple products, platforms, and engineering organizations.
  • Continuously build expertise in emerging voice, AI, and healthcare technologies and apply that knowledge to future product opportunities.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required.
  • 6+ years of experience in software product development, product ownership, product management, software development, or closely related roles is required.
  • Experience translating customer or business needs into software requirements, product capabilities, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria is required.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering closely with software engineering teams throughout product development and delivery is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and effectively communicate between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience owning complex software products, platforms, or capabilities involving cloud architecture, APIs, integrations, security, or distributed systems.
  • Experience with voice recognition, speech technologies, conversational interfaces, natural-language processing, or voice-enabled user experiences.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML technologies, including Large Language Models and their application to voice-driven or conversational workflows.
  • Experience designing or delivering products involving complex user workflows and multiple interconnected services or systems.
  • Experience within healthcare, medical technology, medical device software, or another regulated environment.
  • Understanding of medical device software development practices, regulatory requirements, cybersecurity, and data privacy considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, evaluate competing priorities, and make sound product tradeoffs.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, customers, cross-functional partners, and senior leaders.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Agile certification, or comparable product development training.
  • $153,400 - $255,700 USD Annual

Travel Percentage: 30%
