Trainee HGV Driver

Want to become an HGV Driver but only have a car or van licence? We can help you get there!

Join Copart’s Driver Academy and we’ll invest in your training, giving you the opportunity to gain your HGV licence while earning a guaranteed income along the way.

Based at our Sandwich Operation Centre (CT13 9ND) , you’ll start your Copart journey as a Yard Operative, learning the operation and getting hands-on experience with our vehicles. Alongside this, we’ll fund your HGV theory and practical driving qualifications, subject to a training agreement.

Learn, earn and get behind the wheel

You’ll be supported throughout your training by experienced Copart colleagues and specialist HGV trainers. Training is expected to take around 2–4 months, after which you could be earning around £44,000 a year or more as a Copart HGV Driver.

And the best bit? This isn’t your typical HGV driving role.

You’ll enjoy Monday to Friday daytime working and a varied role that includes loading and unloading vehicles as well as driving.

To be eligible to join our Driver Academy, you’ll need

A clean full UK car driving licence
Excellent customer service skills
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
The commitment to complete your HGV training
