About The Role
Oceaneering is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant Engineer to join our Vibration Group within Global Engineering Services (GES).
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and expertise in vibration engineering, supporting clients across the oil & gas and wider energy sectors. The role involves delivery of high-value engineering projects, development of innovative solutions to complex vibration and integrity challenges, and mentoring of developing engineers.
Our team delivers specialist services including
- Energy Institute pipework vibration assessments (FIT, AIV and Pulsation)
- Site-based vibration surveys on pipework and structures
- Integrity assessments using BS7608, BS7910 and API579
- Temporary and permanent monitoring system deployments
- Advanced testing techniques including modal analysis
- Finite element analysis of pipework and structures
The position offers opportunities for client interaction, technical leadership, offshore and onshore site work, and participation in the ongoing development of Oceaneering's vibration capability.
- Lead and support delivery of vibration engineering projects.
- Provide expert technical advice and guidance to clients.
- Assess vibration related integrity risks associated with piping systems and structures.
- Conduct vibration investigations, analysis and troubleshooting activities.
- Develop practical mitigation solutions to address vibration threats.
- Deliver vibration risk management, monitoring and inspection strategies.
- Prepare clear, concise and accurate technical reports and presentations.
- Support capability development and adoption of innovative engineering approaches.
- Mentor, supervise and develop junior engineers.
- Support contract delivery, project execution and commercial performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Support business development activities and proposal preparation.
- Undertake offshore and onshore surveys as required.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in vibration engineering or a related engineering field.
- Strong understanding of vibration analysis principles and techniques.
- Experience assessing vibration risks associated with pipework, structures and industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards including Energy Institute AVIFF guidance, BS7608, BS7910 and API579.
- Experience with vibration monitoring and data analysis software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desired
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng), PE, EUR ING or equivalent professional status.
- Current offshore medical and survival certification.
- Experience in the oil and gas or energy sectors.
