We are looking for a new leader for the Risk & Performance Analytics team, Multi Asset and Solutions. The successful candidate will be someone who can continue to evolve the team's capabilities, enhance the depth and quality of risk insights, and act as a trusted adviser to investors and senior management as the businesses continue to grow and evolve.

The base

We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We’re close to our clients, in the heart of the UK’s financial centre and we have everything we need to work flexibly.

The team

The Multi Asset and Solutions Risk & Performance Analytics Team, based in London and supported by colleagues in Mumbai and across the wider Public Markets organisation, provides in-depth portfolio risk analysis, oversight and insight across Schroders' Multi Asset and Solutions strategies.

The range of strategies supported is highly diverse, spanning outcome-oriented portfolios, income, balanced, institutional solutions and risk managed strategies. Portfolios invest across the full range of public and private asset classes, often through multiple implementation vehicles.

The team operates as a 1st Line Risk function embedded within the businesses. Its principal stakeholders are portfolio managers, product teams and senior management. The team exists to support the delivery of investment objectives by providing robust risk oversight, challenge and analysis, helping ensure portfolios are managed in accordance with client expectations, investment objectives and governance standards.

What you'll do

Investment Risk Leadership

• Lead investment risk oversight across all Multi Asset and Solutions portfolios.
• Provide independent challenge and insight on portfolio construction, positioning and risk-taking.
• Oversee portfolio reviews, stress testing, risk reporting and thematic risk assessments.
• Identify and escalate material investment risks and emerging vulnerabilities.

Team Leadership

• Lead, develop and motivate a high-performing risk team.
• Support recruitment, succession planning and talent development.
• Foster a culture of intellectual curiosity, challenge, collaboration and accountability.
• Build scalable processes that make effective use of data, technology and automation.

Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships with portfolio managers, CIOs and senior management.
• Partner with Product and Client Group teams on client-related risk matters.
• Support strategic business initiatives, product launches and new investment capabilities.
• Collaborate closely with Group Risk and other control functions.

Governance and Oversight

• Ensure adherence to investment risk policies, controls and governance standards.
• Support governance committees, board reporting and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain an effective framework for limit monitoring, exception management and escalation.
• Ensure appropriate documentation and transparency of risk oversight activities.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

• Proven leadership experience, including management and development of high-performing teams.
• Deep understanding of multi-asset investing, portfolio construction and risk management.
• Strong knowledge of global asset classes, derivatives, portfolio implementation and investment processes.
• Excellent analytical skills and a strong understanding of risk and performance models, analytical techniques and portfolio diagnostics.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of client requirements, market dynamics and investment strategy design.
• Confidence engaging with and constructively challenging senior investors and management teams.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that’ll help

• Familiarity with major risk and portfolio analytics platforms and a strong understanding of their strengths and limitations.
• Experience implementing new technologies, analytical capabilities and process enhancements.
• Track record of driving operational efficiencies and scalable risk frameworks through data and technology
