About The Role
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager, Traffic to join Procore’s Product & Technology organization. In this role, you’ll spearhead and scale a Cairo-based engineering team responsible for the high-performance traffic and edge networking infrastructure that anchors Procore’s platform. Your primary goal is to accelerate Procore’s evolution toward a modern, cloud-native infrastructure while championing operational excellence and reliability.

This position reports into the Senior Manager, Software Engineering and will be based in our Cairo, Egypt office . We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.
What you’ll do
- AI is central to how we work. You’ll be expected to master generative tools and agentic workflows, moving beyond just using AI to actively building the agentic future of construction.
- Empower, mentor, and scale a high-impact team of 4–6 engineers focused on global traffic and edge networking infrastructure.
- Architect the technical strategy and execution roadmap for Traffic initiatives in Cairo, replacing legacy systems with modern, cloud-native solutions.
- Collaborate with the Senior Engineering Manager and peer leaders to synchronize regional execution with the broader Platform Engineering vision.
- Cultivate engineering excellence by defining SLOs, managing incidents, and aggressively reducing technical debt and operational toil.
- Fortify infrastructure security, ensuring all traffic systems meet stringent compliance controls through close partnership with Security teams.
- Attract, develop, and retain top-tier talent while fostering a culture of extreme ownership, curiosity, and psychological safety.
- Champion an AI-first mindset, integrating AI-assisted tools and agentic workflows into the team’s design and operational lifecycle.
- Execute high-quality technical leadership and coverage during the Cairo workday to support our global "Follow-the-Sun" operational model.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in Software, Systems, or Site Reliability Engineering, including 2+ years of formal people management leading distributed teams.
- Deep technical expertise in backend systems, distributed infrastructure, cloud networking (VPCs, routing, DNS), and Kubernetes/EKS operating at scale.
- Working knowledge of API gateway, service mesh technologies, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm), and CI/CD pipelines (ArgoCD, GitHub Actions).
- Proficiency in leveraging AI tools and autonomous agents to optimize the software development lifecycle.
- Proven track record of recruiting, mentoring, and developing top-tier engineering talent in a distributed environment.
- Strong communication, stakeholder alignment, and strategic execution abilities with an operational excellence mindset.
- Exposure to compliance frameworks (SOC 2, SOX) or prior experience leading infrastructure modernization migrations is preferred.
