Job Description

Location: Floor 5, Council Offices, Almada Street, Hamilton

Hours: 35 hours per week

Work Pattern: Monday - Thursday, 8.45am - 16.45pm (1 hour unpaid break)

Friday, 8.45am - 16.15pm (30 minutes unpaid break)

Salary: £28,012 - £28,358 per annum

Duration: Fixed term until 31 July 2027

We are looking for an organised, motivated and customer-focused individual to join our HR Team as a Clerical Assistant.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will provide high-quality administrative support across a range of HR activities. You will play a key part in supporting the recruitment processes, ensuring a professional and efficient service is delivered at all times.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Creating and publishing recruitment advertisements.
  • Coordinating interviews and liaising with hiring managers and candidates.
  • Conducting pre-employment and PVG checks.
  • Preparing and issuing contracts of employment and associated documentation.
  • Processing payroll-related paperwork accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Maintaining HR records and systems, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.

Working in a fast-paced environment, you will be expected to manage competing priorities and work to tight timescales. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is therefore essential.

You will also be responsible for responding to enquiries from both internal and external customers, providing information and basic guidance on SLLC policies and procedures. Excellent communication skills, a positive approach to customer service and the ability to build effective working relationships are key requirements of the role.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your HR administration experience within a busy and supportive team.

Hybrid Working: This post operates on a hybrid working basis, combining office-based and home working. The successful candidate will be expected to attend the office on designated days, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week.
