What You Will Do
A s a Design Engineer I - Advanced Military Development at Pratt & Whitney , you will …..
- Support design engineering activities across planning, execution, and delivery phases:
- Develop new military designs within the Externals and Mechanical Systems part families
- Execute on Class I and Class II design changes
- Coordinate within teams to create manufacturable and cost effective design solutions that meet performance and operability requirements
- Support military engine build and test support activities
- Travel to suppliers and PW facilities in support of meetings and delivery milestones
What You Will Learn
- This position is a part of our Engineering Development Program (EDP). EDP participants will complete three to four assignments to build technical breadth and leadership abilities before graduating from the program.
- Design engineering for military development within the Externals and Mechanical Systems part families
- Part manufacturability and cost-conscious designs
- Schedule creation and estimation, execution processes, and review gates
- Quality non-conformance mitigation strategies, NX solid modeling, and GD&T
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in an Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
- Experience with engineering or technical coursework involving design, integration, F inite element analysis (FEA), G eneral dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and team-based design work
- Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, MATLAB, Siemens NX, Siemens Teamcenter, MS Project, Jira, or similar.
- Experience organizing information, track tasks, and communicating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
