Job Overview

The Mechanic Superintendent role requires extensive knowledge of project execution strategies, workforce management, and mechanical fabrication principles. Key Tasks and Reponsibilities

Lead the mechanical aspects of fabrication projects, ensuring seamless execution of assembly, installation, and commissioning of mechanical components and systems
Implement and enforce strict safety protocols to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards, fostering a zero-accident work environment
Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to ensure mechanical work aligns with project specifications, schedules, and quality benchmarks
Supervise and direct a team of mechanics and technicians in fabrication, fitting, and adjustment of mechanical systems and equipment
Manage the procurement and inventory of mechanical parts, tools, and materials, ensuring availability and quality to support project demands
Oversee troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical issues encountered during fabrication, minimizing project delays and cost impacts
Maintain accurate records of mechanical operations, including project progress updates, equipment maintenance logs, and safety compliance documentation
Promote continuous professional development within the mechanical team by providing training, mentorship, and skill-enhancement opportunities
Own and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures
Ensure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and procedures
Ensure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams

Essential Qualifications and Education

Education: Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field with an emphasis on fabrication and mechanical systems
Experience: Proven track record in a supervisory or managerial role within a fabrication environment, overseeing mechanical operations on large-scale projects
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of mechanical fabrication techniques, tools, and machinery, with the ability to oversee complex assembly and installation processes
Safety Commitment: Demonstrated commitment to enforcing and maintaining high safety standards in a mechanical fabrication setting
Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, manage, and inspire a team of skilled mechanics, fabricators, and support staff
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills with the ability to address mechanical challenges effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Communication & Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments and ensure smooth project execution
