Overview of The Role

The IT Architect – Warehouse and Inventory Management is accountable for the solution architecture, design, and technical direction of Saputo’s warehousing solutions, with primary focus on SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and closely integrated execution systems.

This role partners closely with other global Enterprise Applications and Regional IT teams to design scalable, resilient, and future-proof warehouse solutions that support business transformations for Saputo.

The IT Architect provides deep technical and functional expertise, solution design leadership, and architectural governance, ensuring SAP warehousing solutions align with enterprise architecture, SAP strategy, and Saputo’s operational excellence objectives. This leader acts as a trusted advisor and hands-on architect for warehousing solutions, driving design quality, technical feasibility, and continuous improvement.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Design and maintain the SAP EWM solution architecture and roadmap, aligned with Supply Chain and enterprise digital transformation objectives.
  • Define and champion global design standards, solution patterns, and governance for warehouse execution across regions.
  • Ensure SAP EWM and related solutions are scalable, efficient, secure, and compliant with IT architecture and audit requirements.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for warehousing solutions, advising IT leadership and business stakeholders on design decisions, risks, and trade-offs.

Delivery & Technical Leadership

  • Provide hands-on architecture and design leadership for large-scale, multi-region programs including SAP EWM implementations, DC startups, migrations, and warehouse modernization initiatives.
  • Lead solution design workshops, blueprint sessions, and technical reviews across the delivery lifecycle: requirements, solution design, build/configuration, testing, cutover, and hypercare.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to functional leads, developers, and system integrators.

Architecture, Integration & Data

  • Govern integration patterns between SAP EWM and SAP ERP, transportation and external platforms.
  • Champion SAP best practices and sustainable extension strategies.
  • Ensure data integrity, master data alignment, and end-to-end process visibility across the supply chain.

Operations & Sustainment

  • Contribute to the global sustainment model for warehousing solutions, supporting operational stability and predictable service levels.
  • Provide L3 / architectural-level support for major incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure security, access controls, segregation of duties, and audit readiness are embedded in solution design.

You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have the Following Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions, with 7+ years in SAP warehousing or supply chain execution.
  • Deep functional and technical expertise in SAP EWM across inbound, outbound and internal warehouse processes.
  • Proven experience architecting and designing large, complex SAP programs spanning multiple sites, regions, and business units.
  • Strong experience integrating SAP EWM with SAP ERP and adjacent supply chain systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and business audiences and influence senior stakeholders. Experience in food, dairy or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industries is an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with warehouse systems and material handling system integrations.
  • Experience operating within a global SAP template and rollout model.

  • Salary: $117,560 to $154,300
  • *Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
