In this role, you will work within the Airspace and ATM Change team, collaborating with internal stakeholders, airlines, NATS, and regulatory bodies to deliver complex airspace change projects. Success in this position means delivering projects that meet safety, capacity, and environmental objectives while maintaining compliance with CAA regulations and Heathrow’s strategic goals. You will be instrumental in ensuring that changes are implemented smoothly, with minimal disruption and maximum benefit to passengers and the wider aviation network.
- Leading the development and delivery of airspace and ATM change projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring alignment with Heathrow’s strategic objectives.
- Engaging with stakeholders including airlines, NATS, CAA, and internal teams to secure buy-in and manage expectations throughout the change process.
- Conducting risk assessments and ensuring all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements are met for proposed changes.
- Managing project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver outcomes on schedule and within scope.
- Providing expert advice on airspace design, ATM procedures, and regulatory compliance to support decision-making across the business.
- Proven experience in airspace management, ATM change, or a related aviation discipline.
- Strong understanding of CAA regulations, airspace design principles, and environmental considerations.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Project management expertise, including planning, risk management, and delivery of complex initiatives.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on achieving practical, compliant solutions.
Ideal Skills
- Chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation in an aviation or engineering discipline.
- Experience working on large-scale airspace change programmes or similar regulatory projects.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in air traffic management and their potential impact on operations.
