About the RoleThis role sits inside an early-stage medical AI company building a real-time surgical copilot that helps surgeons make sharper decisions in the operating room. You will work across the stack, from backend services and APIs to front end interfaces and edge software, with real ownership from your first weeks. Strong early-career engineers and senior engineers looking for deep technical range are both a fit here.What You'll OwnShip backend services and APIs that power both internal tools and the deployed medical device <platform.Build> and maintain data pipelines connecting devices in the operating room to cloud processing and diagnostics.Turn surgical video, medical imaging, and AI model outputs into interfaces that engineers and researchers actually rely on.Move research prototypes into production quality software, backed by tests and clear <documentation.Drive> testing, CI/CD, and containerization practices that keep releases reliable as the platform grows.Partner with computer vision, machine learning, and design teammates to turn research capability into working software end to <end.Support> development practices aligned with medical-grade regulatory standards.What We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent demonstrated experience.2+ years of professional software development experience, senior candidates should bring significantly more.Proficiency in Python.Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern front end framework such as React, Vue, or Angular.Experience building or integrating APIs and backend services.Strong fundamentals in debugging, testing, asynchronous programming, and version control.Comfort working with Git and Linux based development environments.Nice to HaveExperience with Docker, CI/CD, or cloud platforms.Exposure to real-time data, video, imaging, or 2D/3D graphics.Familiarity with hardware-connected or edge-computing systems.Exposure to computer vision, machine learning, or regulated medical device <software.Tools> and StackPython, JavaScript or TypeScript with React, Vue, or Angular, REST APIs, Docker and CI/CD where relevant.Success Indicators for the First 3–6 MonthsWithin the first 3 to 6 months, you will be expected to:Ship working software across at least two layers of the stack, for example a user facing interface plus its supporting API or data <pipeline.Build> working fluency with the platform's edge and cloud software, including how data moves from the OR through processing and into diagnostics.Contribute meaningfully to code reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices, and begin supporting regulatory grade documentation where relevant.Establish strong working relationships with the software, computer vision, machine learning, modeling, and design teammates you collaborate with day to day.Compensation & LogisticsLocation: Remote LATAMWorking hours: Overlap with U.S. business hoursCompensation: $55,000-$65,000 usd annually Equity: Competitive equity packageBenefits: Unlimited PTOCompany OverviewOur client is an early stage medical AI company building a surgical copilot that combines computer vision, deep learning, and physics based modeling to help surgeons make better decisions in the operating room.
