This is a mid-level opportunity for a database professional supporting complex cloud environments and mission-critical customer <operations.You> will work across multi-cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP, with a strong focus on database technologies.The role sits within a Cloud Engineering team responsible for advanced troubleshooting, incident resolution, and technical <recovery.You> will investigate complex issues through logs, metrics, traces, and root-cause analysis while maintaining a strong focus on reliability.The position combines hands-on database administration with change management, performance optimization, automation, and continuous <improvement.You> will collaborate with incident management and reliability teams to stabilize environments and prevent recurring problems.This remote role is suited to someone who thrives under pressure, communicates clearly, and enjoys solving challenging technical problems.

Accountabilities

Support the operations and management of customer cloud environments across AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP, focusing on multi-engine database technologies.
Validate incident tickets and ensure the technical context is sufficient to proceed with effective diagnosis and resolution.
Perform advanced technical troubleshooting using logs, metrics, traces, and other diagnostic information to identify root causes.
Resolve complex incidents and crises in collaboration with Incident Commanders and other technical teams.
Plan, execute, and roll back complex changes and implementations (GMUD), ensuring appropriate technical and operational controls.
Troubleshoot database issues involving performance, deadlocks, locks, replication, backup and restore, high availability, indexes, and SQL queries.
Apply temporary workarounds when necessary to stabilize environments while permanent solutions are developed.
Produce detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports covering timelines, technical diagnosis, identified causes, and remediation actions.
Document and share technical knowledge through knowledge bases, playbooks, runbooks, and other operational resources.
Escalate customer-impacting incidents and recurring problems to reliability teams, supporting Problem Management and preventive action planning.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and practical applications of AI in technical operations.
Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders while managing multiple activities and priorities simultaneously.

Requirements

Professional experience in database administration and management, preferably across multiple database engines.
Hybrid database knowledge covering MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
Experience troubleshooting complex database issues, including tablespaces, object distribution, storage structures, fragmentation, I/O throughput, and SQL query performance.
Hands-on experience with backup, restore, and disaster recovery routines.
Knowledge of database tuning, index creation and optimization, permissions, and user management.
Experience with incident resolution, technical diagnosis, and root-cause analysis in production environments.
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP is desirable.
Knowledge of Linux and/or Windows environments is desirable.
Experience creating technical or operational reports.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.
Proactive, collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working under pressure during critical incidents.
Strong time-management and self-management skills, with the ability to organize simultaneous projects and activities.
Ability to negotiate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Cloud certifications such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI Associate-level certifications are desirable.
Database-specific certifications in Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or related technologies are desirable.
AWS Certified Database – Specialty or Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate certification is a plus.
