Your New Role

The Senior Technical Business Analyst will work with sponsors, initiative owners, SMEs, project and BAU teams, vendors and other stakeholders to define technical business requirements, support analysis, advise and assist on the delivery of Investment Platforms initiatives and business enhancements across Technology Services and Technology, Data and Digital (TDD) department.

Key responsibilities include

  • Leading and documenting business requirements for enhancements to existing platforms, services and new capabilities;
  • Translating high-level business requirements into detailed technical and system requirements;
  • Supporting planning and prioritisation in line with agile ways of working and the Continuous Delivery model;
  • Helping design the future business and technology landscape and acting as an ecosystem SME for team members and new starters;
  • Designing data requirements and solutions with platform architects and data engineers to uplift capability and serviceability in line with strategic direction;
  • Facilitating stakeholder workshops to elicit requirements, identify issues, design solutions and support decision-making;
  • Eliciting initiative requirements through interviews, document reviews, workshops, surveys and issue resolution;
  • Identifying and defining data, business and process requirements for initiatives, independently and under direction;
  • Applying analytical and conceptual thinking to define requirements and support high-level planning across projects and initiatives;
  • Evaluating information from multiple sources, resolving conflicts, breaking down high-level information and distinguishing requests from underlying needs.

This is a 12-month contract role preferably based in Melbourne.

What You’ll Need

  • Extensive experience as a system, business and/or data analyst in the Financial Services or Superannuation industry with a preference for someone with Investments Management experience;
  • Good knowledge and understanding of cloud computing concepts (preferably Azure) and big data platforms;
  • DevOps experience, including CD/CI practices;
  • Atlassian suite (Jira/Confluence) skills;
  • Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional teams in a project environment;
  • Ability to troubleshoot with strong analytical skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in highly pressured & complex project environment with multiple internal and external project stakeholders concurrently;
  • Demonstrated ability in process modelling techniques and services (i.e. defining, designing, implementing & supporting services and processes);
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve defined and emerging project outcomes and the ability to build strong and sustainable working relationships;
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment;
  • Have an Agile mindset and depth of proven experience in delivering initiatives utilising agile techniques;
  • Experienced in operating in a hybrid (insourced & outsourced) operating environment with strong vendor management skills;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field;
  • Post graduate qualifications in Finance, Commerce or Economics or similar, e.g. CFA (desired);
  • Agile certification and relevant cloud certifications desired.
