About The Role
WHY WE'RE HERE
Tourism Jasper is the Destination Marketing Organization for Jasper and Jasper National Park. We're a young, energetic, forward-thinking team, who are charged with developing and executing on creative solutions to help our Shareholders (select hotels, restaurants, and activities in Jasper) increase revenue through sustainable visitation of targeted consumers to our awesome little town.
WHY YOU'RE HERE
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Coordinator provides support to Tourism Jasper's Marketing team. The Marketing Coordinator supports cross-functional marketing efforts across the organization, helping to ensure brand consistency, support media relations initiatives, and strengthen engagement with key audiences. In this role, they will coordinate media visits and events, maintain media databases and communications, support consumer marketing initiatives, and assist with the development and distribution of marketing materials and organizational merchandise. Additionally, the Marketing Coordinator provides administrative support to the marketing team and helps contribute to Tourism Jasper's overall marketing and promotional efforts.
THIS IS YOUR ROLE
As the Marketing Coordinator, you will
Media Visit Coordination and Support (50%)
- Manage itinerary building for media visits using Travefy
- Coordinate activity and accommodation bookings with Shareholders for media itineraries
- Assist with evaluating social media influencers and gathering supporting data
- Support the development of media pitches and media relations initiatives
- Monitor media coverage and prepare reports on earned media performance
- Coordinate annual in-market and in-destination media events
- Create and deliver media welcome packages
- Provide hosting support during media visits
- Maintain media budgets and track expenses related to visits
- Keep media contact lists and coverage tracking documents up to date
- Manage the media e-newsletter, including content coordination, design, distribution, and performance tracking
- Maintain and update the media CRM database
Marketing Support (40%)
- Manage and coordinate Tourism Jasper's consumer e-newsletter
- Coordinate the development, inventory, and distribution of organizational merchandise and marketing collateral
- Support marketing campaigns and department initiatives as required
- Provide assistance with additional marketing-related projects and requests
Admin Duties (10%)
- Process marketing and media invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
- Track and manage Parks Canada passes for media visits
- Provide support to the marketing team as required
- Other duties as needed
YOU ARE ARMED WITH
- Post-secondary education in business, tourism, communications, marketing, or a related field
- Minimum 1 to 3 years' experience in marketing or a related field
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools and analytics platforms
- Basic graphic design skills or exposure to design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe, etc.)
- Service-oriented with the ability to assess needs, provide appropriate solutions, and follow through
- Excellent people and communication skills, both oral and written
- Outstanding project and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a team environment
- Understanding and respect for multi-stakeholder environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of the Jasper region is considered an asset
- Being solution-driven and proactive in your approach
- Experience in the tourism industry is considered an asset
