About your team

HR Enablement ensures the CPO function is aligned to the wider business strategy and set up to deliver its multi-year priorities. The team plays a central role in coordinating the strategic activity that enables HR to operate effectively across the business, bringing together change and innovation, people data and insights, talent services, strategic planning, governance, reporting, and other associated oversight activities.

Working across HR and with key stakeholders in Platforms and the broader business, HR Enablement helps ensure the function has a clear view of its priorities, resources, risks, dependencies and outcomes. The team provides the structure, insight and oversight needed to make sure strategic initiatives are well defined, actively managed and connected to business outcomes. Through this work, HR Enablement helps the CPO function focus on the activity that matters most, drive progress against the business strategy and deliver measurable impact for Fidelity.

About your role

The Strategic Initiatives Lead will play a key role in supporting the Chief People Officer, Head of HR Enablement and HR Leadership Team to shape, oversee and drive priority strategic initiatives across the CPO function and the broader business. This is a senior business management role, bringing together strategic planning, delivery governance, change leadership, business analysis, data insight, reporting and communications.

You will help translate enterprise priorities into a clear people agenda, delivery roadmap and set of measurable outcomes, ensuring the work of the CPO function is directly connected to the needs of the business. Working with the HR Enablement team, HR Leadership Team and initiative owners, you will help shape, monitor and drive the strategic initiatives that underpin the business strategy, multi-year plan and Forward 8 priorities.

You will create a clear, joined-up view of the CPO strategic portfolio, ensuring delivery is on track, risks and dependencies are actively managed, and decisions are made at the right level. Where required, you will also take the lead on specific strategic initiatives, bringing structure, pace and focus to ensure they move from planning through to delivery.

You will also ensure progress, priorities, risks and decisions are communicated clearly across senior forums and stakeholder groups. This includes producing high-quality executive reporting, board-level updates, GOC materials, leadership packs and communications that support alignment, accountability and action.

  • Experience supporting senior strategy, business management, transformation, change or portfolio delivery activity in a complex organisation.
  • The ability to connect business strategy with people priorities, ensuring functional activity is aligned to enterprise outcomes.
  • Strong delivery discipline, with the ability to monitor progress, manage dependencies, identify risks and maintain momentum across multiple initiatives.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and high-quality materials for senior governance, board, GOC and executive-level forums.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to turn data and insight into practical action.
  • Confidence working with senior leaders, providing constructive challenge and helping maintain focus on the initiatives that matter most.
  • A proactive, organised and improvement-focused mindset, with the ability to bring structure and clarity to complex or ambiguous work.
