About The Role
The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $34.78 to $50.67 per hour. ( Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.)
The Impact You Can Make
The primary function of the occupational therapist is evaluation, assessment and treatment of functional performances specific to a patient’s life roles when their roles have been disrupted by physical injury, illness or congenital impairment. This is accomplished by performance of tests and measurements, establishment of treatment goals and therapeutic intervention.
How You Will Fulfill Your Potential (Responsibilities)
- Conduct evaluations for inpatients and outpatients of all ages according to clinical protocols and guidelines. Consistently provide educational to patient and families regarding their particular condition/treatment.
- Provide therapy for patients of all ages consistent with clinical guidelines and protocols. Monitor and modify the treatment plan and goals as indicated by treatment response, monitor equipment use and safety, record patient charges.
- Maintain appropriate, timely documentation including evaluation reports, daily progress notes, progress updates and discharge summaries.
- Supervise OTA students, aides and volunteers as delegated.
- Participate in program planning and development for the department, interdisciplinary promotional activities and orientation of new staff.
- Train or mentor new and existing staff in daily operations or special techniques for patient care as needed.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
Education/Accredited Programs
- Bachelors degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from a New York State Department of Education accredited program or AOTA program.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations
- Valid Driver’s License
- New York State license in Occupational Therapy
- NBCOT Certification as an Occupational Therapist
- Current CPR
