A little more about your role...

As the Strategic Asset Management Lead, you will be responsible for establishing, leading, and growing WSP Africa's Strategic Asset Management Advisory capability within our Property & Buildings Advisory Services practice.

This is a unique opportunity to build a market-leading advisory service focused on helping clients maximize the value, performance, reliability, and sustainability of their physical assets. You will lead the development and delivery of strategic advisory solutions covering asset strategy, portfolio optimization, lifecycle planning, operational readiness, maintenance strategy, asset intelligence, risk management, and ISO 55000-aligned management systems.

In this role, you will work closely with asset owners, investors, operators, government entities, and infrastructure organizations, becoming a trusted advisor at executive level. You will play a critical role in shaping investment decisions, enhancing asset performance, and enabling organizations to achieve long-term value from their asset portfolios.

You will also be responsible for implementing the Strategic Asset Management service line within WSP's Advisory Services roadmap, growing a sustainable portfolio of consulting engagements, and developing integrated solutions with our Sustainability, Digital, Asset Intelligence, and Transaction Advisory teams.

Your leadership will extend beyond project delivery. You will build and mentor a high-performing advisory team, foster technical excellence and innovation, and help position WSP as the preferred Strategic Asset Management advisor across Africa.

Service Line Leadership

Lead the development and growth of WSP Africa's Strategic Asset Management service line.
Develop and maintain advisory methodologies, tools, frameworks, and service offerings.
Establish a market-leading Strategic Asset Management proposition aligned with global WSP capabilities.
Drive implementation of ISO 55000 asset management principles and best practices.
Develop integrated advisory offerings across Sustainability, Digital, Asset Intelligence, and Transaction Advisory services.
Establish governance, quality assurance, and technical excellence frameworks across the service line.

Develop and execute the Strategic Asset Management growth strategy.
Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
Identify, pursue, and convert strategic advisory opportunities.
Lead major bids, proposals, and pursuits.
Develop thought leadership content and market-facing initiatives.
Represent WSP at conferences, industry events, and client forums.
Generate opportunities that support wider multidisciplinary project delivery across the business.

Project Leadership & Delivery

Act as Project Director on major advisory commissions.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate...

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Asset Management, Facilities Management, Built Environment, or a related discipline.
Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience.
Proven leadership experience within strategic asset management, infrastructure, or property advisory.
Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management principles and best practices.
Demonstrated experience developing and delivering strategic asset management advisory services.
Track record of building client relationships and winning consulting work.

Preferred Qualifications

MBA, MSc, or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA).
Institute of Asset Management (IAM) qualifications.
ISO 55000 Lead Implementer or Auditor certification.
Professional registration with a relevant professional institution.
