About the opportunity

Mercy Palliative Care is a dedicated 10‑bed inpatient unit. Our team provides compassionate, holistic care for patients requiring end‑of‑life support and symptom management. We are a small, highly collaborative unit where every team member plays a crucial role in creating a calm, respectful, and supportive environment for patients and their families.

As a Registered Nurse in Mercy Palliative Care, you will provide quality, client‑focused care to patients, their families, and carers using a holistic and person‑centred approach. You will act as a professional role model, demonstrating and upholding the core values of Mercy Health in every interaction.

In this role, you will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with medical, allied health, and support staff to deliver coordinated, responsive care. You will be required to provide flexible, empathetic, and skilled support to consumers and carers while maintaining a high level of clinical professionalism.

What you’ll bring

You’re resilient, compassionate and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care.

To thrive in this role, you will have

  • Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
  • A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.
  • The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining

  • A current Police Record.
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse.
  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with NSW public health orders.
