SUMMARY: The purpose of a live hanger is to discern between live and dead chickens and hang the live ones on moving shackles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following

Be able to work in a fast paced setting hanging a live chicken weighing 2-5 pounds, on every 5th shackle
Adhere to all George’s policies & procedures and all animal welfare laws & regulations.
Must be able to stand for several hours at a time
Must be able to work in a dimly lighted work area shoulder to shoulder with other employees
Must be able to grasp a chicken at approximately waist level and hang a live chicken on a shackle at shoulder height
Must be able to discern a live chicken from a dead chicken

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will not have supervisory responsibility.
