Schedule-Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday-8am-6:30pm

Role

The Housekeeper cleans patients’ rooms, nursing stations, family areas, and room/public areas in both administrative and inpatient buildings.

Experience/Education Requirements

  • The Housekeeper must have previous hospital or hotel housekeeping experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Quality Provision of Services

  1. According to posted instructions, and on call/substitute basis, cleans patients’ rooms, baths and
  • shower room; nurses’ station and kitchen; offices, library, meditation room, staff bathroom,
  • handicapped bathroom, public rooms, corridors, stairwell down to ground floor, and outside
  • entrances.
  1. According to posting instructions, and on call/substitute basis, cleans administrative offices,

cafeteria, restrooms, corridors and conference rooms.

  1. Records completed jobs on work order form so that no task is omitted and so that the

supervisor can easily check to see if a particular task has been done.

  1. Maintains hard floors.
  2. Mixes and dispenses solutions according to posted instructions to avoid accidents with

hazardous materials.

  1. Assists with cleaning of patient room as needed.

Organization/Regulatory Compliance

  1. Immediately reports and documents all spills according to hazardous material (safety)
  • guidelines and OSHA regulations to protect themselves, other staff, patients, and families from
  • any potentially infectious or hazardous materials.
  1. Attends mandatory safety program (annually).
  2. Follows standard precautions unless otherwise indicated for isolation terminal cleaning and maintain infection control standards.
  3. Attends mandatory infection control training (annually).

People/Communications

  1. Reports inoperable, malfunctioning, equipment, or unsafe issues to the maintenance department
  2. As directed, cooperates with maintenance staff in deep cleaning of the facility.
  3. Works cooperatively with other departments to accomplish goals.

Financial Stewardship

  1. Achieves expected productivity standard as defined by the organization and in alignment with

best practices/the Capital Caring Health model.

  1. Monitors and tracks the usage of supplies and materials in a responsible cost- effective manner.

Compensation Pay Range

$16.96 - $25.24
