About The Role
SUMMARY
The Medical Assistant assists physicians in providing high-quality patient care while demonstrating strong customer service skills to patients and supporting the overall practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with direct patient care procedures and related clinical tasks, including lab tracking and data entry, document management, obtaining patient histories and vital signs, verifying medication lists, preparing charts, and completing pre-visit planning.
- Perform routine specialized procedures, including EKGs, rapid strep testing, urine dip testing, spirometry, nebulizer treatments, and other related procedures.
- Administer injections, including vaccines and medications, as directed.
- Educate and advise patients regarding specified medical issues within established guidelines and parameters.
- Schedule, coordinate, and track STAT patient referrals and pre-authorizations.
- Monitor quality reports to help identify and close gaps in care and maintain consistent quality outcomes.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels of medications and medical supplies.
- Monitor and audit vaccine refrigeration temperatures in accordance with Department of Health regulations.
- Follow established safety, environmental, and infection-control practices.
- Comply with OSHA, Department of Health, and other applicable standards and regulations.
- Comply with federal and local confidentiality laws, including HIPAA, to ensure patient privacy.
- Adhere to Brown Health Medical Group Primary Care guidelines for protecting patients’ demographic, clinical, and financial information.
- Provide superior customer service and outstanding patient care.
- Attend meetings, workshops, and training sessions related to the position and office workflows.
- Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant certification program required.
Pay Range
$18.13-$29.90
