THE OPPORTUNITY

Join the team at Pāmu’s organic Burgess Farm as a Dairy Farm Assistant. This is a hands-on dairy role where you’ll be part of the day-to-day running of the farm.
You’ll work with a supportive team and farm manager, and build your skills across milking, calving, feeding, fencing, moving stock, animal health and caring for the environment.
No two days are quite the same. You’ll have the chance to learn from experienced people, grow your confidence, and keep developing your dairy farming career.

ABOUT YOU

You might already have dairy farming experience, or you may be ready to take the next step in your farming career.

What matters most is that you enjoy working with animals, like being outdoors, and are willing to learn. You’ll be part of a team that supports each other, works safely, and takes pride in caring for the animals, the farm and the environment.

You’ll do well in this role if you

Enjoy practical, hands-on work
Have an interest in organic farming
Are comfortable working with animals
Can ask questions and speak up when you need help
Like working as part of a team
Are keen to keep learning and building your skills
Have a current restricted or full New Zealand driver licence

Experience in a similar role is preferred – but not essential as we will provide training.

THE PĀMU FARM

Burgess Organic Dairy Unit gives you the best of both worlds - farm life, with Taupō only 10 minutes away.

The farm is 258 effective hectares and milks around 600 cows through a 54-bail rotary shed with automatic cup removers. It’s a good-sized dairy unit where you’ll get plenty of variety in your day, from milking and stock work through to general farm tasks.

You’ll be part of a wider Pāmu farm network, with the chance to keep learning and building your confidence on farm. Outside of work, Taupō is close by, with schools, shops, the lake, trails, sport, cafés and outdoor activities all within easy reach.
