ABOUT THE ROLE
The Associate Manager, Sales Account Management - Value Channels is responsible for managing and growing LSB’s value channel customer portfolio, including Dollar General/Pop Shelf, Family Dollar, Five Below, and future value channel opportunities. This role serves as the primary sales contact for assigned customers and is accountable for delivering profitable growth through strong customer relationships, disciplined business planning, accurate forecasting, and excellent execution.
This position requires a broad commercial mindset, balancing customer planning, financial analysis, detailed operational execution, and cross-functional partnership across sales, marketing, supply chain, customer service, finance, demand planning, and commercial operations.
The individual will identify and pursue customer and distribution opportunities, build merchant relationships, execute customer initiatives, and influence cross-functional partners to deliver commitments. The role will contribute customer, channel, and competitive insights to LSB’s value channel strategy while supporting the continued growth of the dollar general partnership and other assigned customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Management & Growth
- Manage the assigned value channel customer portfolio and execute customer plans aligned with LSB’s broader channel and business strategies, including Dollar General/Pop Shelf, Family Dollar, Five Below, and emerging value retailers.
- Deliver profitable growth and strong execution across a portfolio of existing customers and new business opportunities.
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new retail partnerships, distribution opportunities, and customer growth initiatives that align with LSB’s strategic priorities.
- Serve as the central sales contact for assigned value channel customers, balancing customer needs with LSB priorities and coordinating actions across cross-functional partners.
Strategic Account Management
- Be accountable for assigned customer performance, including top-line sales, net sales, profitability, distribution, merchandising, promotional effectiveness, trade investment, forecast accuracy, and customer business planning.
- Establish and nurture trusted relationships across multiple levels of customer organizations, including merchants, category managers, operations, and replenishment.
- Lead annual customer planning, growth initiatives, innovation sell-in, assortment recommendations, promotional planning, and joint customer development opportunities.
- Represent the voice of Value Channel customers internally while supporting LSB’s strategic objectives and financial goals.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Coordinate complex customer initiatives in partnership with sales, marketing, category leadership, supply chain, customer service, finance, demand planning, and commercial operations.
- Build alignment across internal teams, clarify required actions, track deliverables, and escalate risks to support new item launches, resolve operational challenges, improve service levels, and deliver customer commitments.
- Influence decision-making without direct authority by clearly communicating customer priorities, business needs, timing, and risks.
- Partner cross-functionally to solve customer issues, capture opportunities, and remove barriers to execution and growth.
New Business Development
- Monitor marketplace trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to identify emerging retail and distribution opportunities capable of driving incremental growth.
- Lead the sales workstream for onboarding prospective value channel customers, coordinating activities from initial opportunity identification through commercialization.
- Coordinate new business opportunities through the commercialization process, maintaining visibility, tracking actions, and escalating risks as needed.
- Establish new merchant relationships, conduct inaugural line reviews, coordinate new item setup, facilitate supply chain connectivity, and support launch execution.
Financial & Commercial Management
- Develop and maintain accurate weekly, monthly, and annual volume forecasts for assigned customers; analyze performance, identify risks and opportunities, and communicate business updates and recommendations to leadership.
- Manage trade investment and promotional spending for assigned customers to maximize return while achieving customer and company objectives.
- Analyze customer and business performance, draw actionable insights, identify growth opportunities, and recommend actions that improve customer outcomes and LSB profitability.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years’ sales experience to a major retailer or within customer marketing/planning for an established consumer brand/cpg
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
- Experience managing retail customer accounts, preferably within the value channel or a similarly complex retail environment.
- Experience working with or managing dollar general, pop shelf, family dollar, or similar value retailers, including merchandising or account management responsibilities.
- Demonstrated success managing a complex customer portfolio with accountability for sales growth, financial performance, forecasting, trade investment, and customer planning.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across sales, marketing, finance, supply chain, customer service, category leadership, and commercial operations.
- Experience identifying, developing, and commercializing new retail customers or distribution opportunities from concept through execution.
- Strong negotiation, selling, and relationship management skills with the ability to influence multiple levels of customer organizations.
- Experience executing innovation sell-in, new item commercialization, assortment expansion, and customer growth initiatives.
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience managing weekly, monthly, and annual forecasts, identifying business drivers, and communicating recommendations to leadership.
- Growth mindset with a passion for identifying new opportunities, challenging the status quo, and thriving in ambiguous environments.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate cross-functional work, and drive timely execution.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Position is full-time, regular business hours, Monday-Friday
- This is a home office-based role, the candidate located with easy access to major airport
- Travel up to 10%
