Your role
- Perform engineering work following AtkinsRéalis/Candu Energy QA programs, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and contribute to conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design activities.
- Prepare engineering deliverables: drawings (GAs, DDs, EDs), calculations, reports, design manuals, specifications, BOMs.
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Prepare EQRs, provide procurement technical support, and interface with vendors.
- Collaborate, mentor, and review the work of junior/assistant engineers and designers.
- Conduct field walkdowns; prepare reports; lead or support field changes, commissioning, AFS, and closeout activities.
- Manage assigned scopes within budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
- Provide prompt technical resolutions for engineering issues.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; and eligible to register. Master’s degree is preferred in Power Engineering and Distribution systems.
- Experience in previous large and mega design‑build projects.
- 0 - 2+ years' experience in electrical engineering and nuclear industry power systems.
- Experienced in designing cable sizing, breaker sizing, cable tray sizing, transformer sizing and picking power electrical components as per OESC, CEC, ESA codes.
- Experience with ETAP or similar modelling software is preferred.
- Site experience in construction or commissioning (asset).
- Strong knowledge of CANDU electrical systems is preferred.
- Strong in fundamentals of electrical power engineering.
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary work.
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary work.
- Proficiency in MV/LV distribution, SLDs, diagrams, load lists, transformer/cable/breaker sizing.
- Strong communication, technical writing, and interpersonal skills.
