Role description

As a Senior PMO Reporting Manage r, you will lead the development, production and continuous improvement of project, programme and portfolio reporting. You will combine strong project controls knowledge with reporting leadership to provide clear performance insight, improve decision making, and drive the transition from manual reporting processes to efficient, dashboard-driven reporting environments.

You will work closely with project controls, PMO, delivery and leadership teams to improve data quality, reporting standards, governance and business outcomes through better use of data, automation and process optimisation.

Role accountabilities

  • Lead the production of project, programme and portfolio performance reporting.
  • Develop executive-level reporting, insight and performance narrative.
  • Coordinate reporting inputs across project controls and delivery functions.
  • Ensure reporting quality, data integrity, consistency and governance compliance.
  • Identify trends, risks, issues and performance opportunities through data analysis.
  • Drive process improvement, standardisation and reduction of manual reporting effort.
  • Support the transition from spreadsheet and PowerPoint reporting to dashboard-driven solutions.
  • Define reporting requirements and support implementation of digital reporting tools.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement and present reporting outputs to senior leadership.
  • Lead, coach and develop reporting and PMO team members.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in PMO, project controls, reporting, or business performance environments.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, including cost, schedule, risk, and change management.
  • Experience delivering reporting and insights to senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with performance data, KPIs, and management information.
  • Experience managing reporting cycles, stakeholder inputs, and governance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve reporting processes and ways of working.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience leading teams, workstreams, or reporting functions.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and strong Excel skills.

Desirable

  • Experience within infrastructure, engineering, construction, utilities, or major capital programmes.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, dashboards, and data visualisation tools.
  • Experience with reporting transformation, automation, or digital initiatives.
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, and information management principles.
  • Professional qualification (or working towards) with APM, PMI, BCS, or equivalent.
  • Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or business process improvement experience.
