GENERAL PURPOSE

The Product Data Technician works with all areas of the business to structure and maintain master data throughout the product lifecycle. The role requires analysis and interpretation of data from engineering drawings and information from the marketing, purchasing, manufacturing, and logistics departments. In this role, the technician will interpret a change request to structure or update the bills of material, purchased parts and finish options for our product. Candidates should have analytical skills and the ability to work independently or in a team. This person may need to work in a fast-paced environment to meet many of the immediate demands of this role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Take ownership of assigned Product lines. Review drawing and Engineering Change Order (ECN/ECO) to determine changes required.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues to ensure order process issues are resolved.
  • Communicate proactively to clarify issues with master data requirements
  • Communicate proposed solutions and make modifications as required based on feedback.
  • Work with MillerKnoll Procurement and Planning to create purchased parts as specified in ECN/ECO.
  • Work with MillerKnoll Operations to create and input manufacturing and procurement routings and bills of material.
  • Acts as an integral member of the Product Data team:
  • Fluidly manages multiple concurrent assignments
  • Initiate timely communication of Product Line progress and challenges
  • Actively participates in team meetings
  • Ability to work flexible hours

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Business/IT/Math or related field preferred or 1-3 years related work experience
  • Minimum one year of experience in an office environment
  • Office furniture or product data experience preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Analytical and mathematical aptitude
  • Problem solving and innovative thinking skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Methodical approach to work, attention to detail, solution oriented
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings
  • Above average ability to think logically, analytically, and innovatively to solve problems
  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes used in consumer product applications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to facilitate interactions with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Customer service, accounting, manufacturing, or engineering experience helpful
