About The Role

Director of Strategic Initiatives & Operations The Director of Strategic Initiatives & Operations serves as a key member of the COO /CMO leadership team and is responsible for leading enterprise-wide projects that advance the organization's strategic priorities, operational performance, growth objectives, and long-term vision. This individual acts as a force multiplier for executive leadership by driving high-impact initiatives from concept through execution, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and ensuring organizational alignment around critical business objectives. The Director of Strategic Initiatives & Operations operates at the intersection of strategy, analytics, project management, and executive leadership. The role requires exceptional analytical capabilities, executive presence, communication skills, and the ability to translate complex business challenges into actionable solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of high-priority strategic initiatives sponsored by executive leadership.
  • Translate corporate objectives into actionable project plans with defined milestones, accountability structures, and measurable outcomes.
  • Support the development and execution of annual strategic plans and long-range growth initiatives.
  • Track key initiatives and ensure organizational alignment with enterprise priorities.

Executive Support & Advisory

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and thought partner to the COO /CMO and executive leadership team.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, board materials, presentations, business cases, and strategic analyses.
  • Conduct market, competitive, operational, and financial assessments to support executive decision-making.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leaders and, when appropriate, the Board of Directors.

Project & Program Leadership

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate initiatives across multiple departments and functional areas.
  • Facilitate project governance processes, including steering committees, executive reviews, and status reporting.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and proactively escalate issues when necessary.
  • Support strategic development initiatives from initial concept through planning, approval, and transition to implementation.

Operational Excellence & Performance Improvement

  • Lead operational improvement initiatives focused on workflow efficiency, productivity, throughput, standardization, and performance outcomes.
  • Evaluate current-state processes and identify opportunities to reduce variation, improve execution, and strengthen operating discipline.
  • Develop and implement scalable best practices across departments, facilities, and corporate functions.
  • Partner with functional leaders to design practical solutions that improve operational and financial performance.

Performance & Business Analytics

  • Develop and maintain executive dashboards and performance reporting tools.
  • Analyze operational, financial, and market data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Measure initiative performance against strategic objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations that improve organizational performance.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with leaders across operations, finance, revenue cycle, marketing, business development, human resources, compliance, and information technology.
  • Build consensus among stakeholders and facilitate collaboration to achieve strategic outcomes.
  • Lead meetings, workshops, and working groups focused on enterprise priorities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, execution, and continuous improvement.

Change Management

  • Support organizational transformation efforts and enterprise change initiatives.
  • Develop communication and implementation strategies to facilitate adoption and sustainability.
  • Ensure strategic initiatives are effectively integrated into existing organizational processes and workflows.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration , Healthcare Administration, Finance, Management, Economics, or a related field required.
  • MBA, MHA, MPH, or other relevant graduate degree strongly preferred.

Experience

  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in strategy, business operations, management consulting, healthcare administration, project management, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership teams and managing enterprise-wide projects.
  • Healthcare industry experience required .
  • Experience developing executive-level presentations, KPI dashboards, operational analyses, and board-ready materials preferred.

  • Experience developing executive dashboards and KPI reporting.
