Job Description

The DME Financial Specialist is responsible for establishing estimates for patients who have a scheduled DME service or device. The DME Financial Specialist works with the patient to establish payment schedules, discuss the financial responsibility and collects prepayments in accordance with CoxHealth at Home policy. This position works alongside different departments system wide in order to deliver excellent care and customer service for CoxHealth patients Education:

  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience

  • Required: 1 year healthcare or customer service experience
  • Preferred: medical billing experience and claims processing knowledge; familiar with the insurance industry and collection process

Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with patients, families, coworkers, and physicians while exhibiting an empathetic attitude toward the sick and elderly.
  • Ability to prioritize shifting caseload containing multiple time-sensitive needs.
  • Working knowledge of common insurance reimbursement practices.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
  • Adept in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Flexible and adaptable to procedural changes.
  • Ability to multi-task and have attention to detail
