About The Role

- This is a teaching position with the School of Humanities & Social Sciences.
- [What you will be working on]
- Conduct daytime and evening classes for full-time students and part-time adult learners on ageing, social services, community care and applied social science topics.
- Develop engaging and interactive learning materials for online, face-to-face and hybrid delivery, and design appropriate assessments.
- Teach and contribute disciplinary and professional expertise to the development and delivery of curriculum in ageing, social services, community care and related applied social science areas.
- Supervise students during internships, applied projects and other experiential learning activities.
- Provide pastoral care and academic guidance to students.
- Lead or contribute to consultancy, applied research and innovation projects with sector and community partners.
- Build and sustain partnerships that enhance curriculum relevance, student learning and sector impact.
- Contribute to school and institutional initiatives, including committee work, outreach and engagement activities.
[What we are looking for]
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Gerontology, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Allied Health, or another relevant social or behavioural science discipline. Applicants with expertise or experience in social work, counselling, mental well-being, human development, community practice or ageing are particularly welcome.
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in social services, community care, healthcare, mental health, research, policy, programme development, or other relevant community-based or ageing-related settings.
- Applied experience working with older adults, caregivers, families or communities. Experience in case management, counselling or psychosocial support, programme planning, community development, care coordination or service innovation would be an advantage.
- Experience in teaching, adult learning, training, curriculum development or student supervision is highly preferred.
- Experience in project management, applied research, programme evaluation, outreach or digital engagement would be an advantage.
- Relevant professional networks in the social service, community care, healthcare or ageing sectors would be advantageous.
- Passionate about facilitating meaningful learning for learners of different ages and backgrounds.
- Proactive and collaborative, with strong communication, organisational and time-management skills, and the ability to work across disciplines.
