About The Role
Responsibilities
- Prepare machinery for operation by ensuring all necessary materials are available, and machines are calibrated according to specifications.
- Operate assigned machines to produce high-quality products, monitor production processes, and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal output.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet established standards. Identify and address any deviations from specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure proper functioning and prevent breakdowns. Report any malfunctions or abnormalities to the maintenance team.
- Assist with Lacing the lines.
- Troubleshoot machine errors and faults, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of machine operations, production output, and quality control checks. Complete production logs and reports as required.
- Work closely with team members, including supervisors, technicians, and quality control personnel, to achieve production goals and address any challenges that may arise.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your team. Report any safety concerns promptly.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting and implementing process enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Assist in training new machine operators and provide guidance to team members as needed.
Education and Certifications
- Proven experience as a Machine Operator or in a similar role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate and troubleshoot machinery.
- Knowledge of machine operation principles and production processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and machine control.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality output.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to adhere to safety guidelines and protocols.
Qualification
- Walking and standing for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting of up to 65 pounds.
- Frequent bending, squatting, stooping, and reaching.
- Repetitive arm and upper body action and movement.
- Exposure to dust, frequent loud noise, varying temperatures in the plant.
- Occasionally climbing stairs.
Work experience in related industry is an asset but even if you do not have this, we still want you to apply. On the job training will be provided.
