Laboratory Technician

• Ensure availability of equipment and materials at all times and monitors laboratory time and use of resources
• Prepare and sets-up laboratory equipment and test models, as requested by the faculty and researchers
• Sterilize all equipment and properly store them in the laboratory storage facility
• Prepare cleaning solutions, sterilizes and dries glassware and instruments (often using a hot air dryer and acetone bath for a thorough clean), and inspects equipment regularly to ensure that it is free from damage
• Prepare stains, solutions and culture media needed for testing
• Assist in providing students guidance in laboratory health and safety procedures
• Assist the academic staff with may aspect of laboratory uses as may be specified by the Chief Laboratory Technician

Job qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in any equivalent course
• At least with 1-2 working experience in the related field
• Clerical & basic computer skills and basic laboratory equipment maintenance skills, organizational skills, attentive to details, pro-active and team player
• One (1) Full-time position available
