Job Description
Job Summary:
In this role, you will assist in the development, testing, and optimization of bakery products, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. You will closely work with the R&D bakers and production team, playing a key role in the innovation and consistency of our baked goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development Support: Assist in the creation and refinement of bakery recipes. You will help test new ingredients and improve formulations to enhance flavor, texture, and product shelf-life.
- Recipe Testing: Participate in trials and product testing, ensuring each product maintains consistent quality.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all bakery products meet the required specifications during production.
- Ingredient Research: Help research and source new ingredients that can improve our products or reduce costs, while still maintaining high quality.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and accurate records of product development processes, test results, and ingredient formulations. Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date for quality control purposes.
- Shelf-Life Testing: Help conduct tests to determine the shelf-life of our products, monitoring changes in quality over time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition and Dietetics, or a related field
- Basic understanding of food safety and quality control procedures
- Interest in food product development, especially in bakery products
- Familiarity with food production processes and ingredient functionality
- Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Basic knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and other relevant food safety standards
Work Environment:
- This role involves working in a kitchen with occasional office work for documentation and reporting.
